Three Chocolate Puppies Lined Up on a Wooden Bench as if for a Class Photo
They've lined up as if waiting for a class photo. Three chocolate puppies sit in a neat row on a weathered wooden bench, front paws gripping the slats and big eyes fixed straight ahead. The pup on the left has his tongue poking out just a tiny bit, the middle one wears an expression of total seriousness, and the one on the right tilts his head as if he's working out a hard question. A linen curtain, a knit throw, and a pair of gray slippers on the floor below complete the homey scene.
Benches, couches, and beds may seem low to us, but for a dog this small, the floor is a long way down. Jumping off furniture can be hard on a toy breed's joints and bones, and young puppies are still developing coordination. Small breeds are also known to be prone to knee problems, such as a kneecap that slips out of place. Using pet steps or ramps, lifting puppies down rather than letting them leap, and supporting their chest and hindquarters when you pick them up can help protect them. If a Chihuahua starts skipping or holding up a back leg, it's worth a visit to the vet.
For now, these three seem content to stay put and gaze out over their domain. Someone will need to help them down when the photo session is over.
Three puppies, one bench, and no question about who's the cutest; it's a three-way tie.
