The Yarn Was Neatly Wound Until Five Puppies Found It
A big ball of cream yarn has been unrolled across the floor, and five ruby puppies are tangled in it. Their copper ears droop, their brown eyes shine, and loops of yarn stretch from paw to paw. One puppy at the front lifts her head with a thoughtful look, while the one behind her seems to be tasting the wool and thinking about it.
Yarn is one of those things that looks like a perfect puppy toy but is actually risky. If a pet swallows string or yarn, it can cause serious blockages that need urgent veterinary attention, so supervise any play carefully, and put craft supplies in a closed container. If you suspect a puppy has swallowed any, call your vet right away and do not pull on any strand that is hanging out.
Safer alternatives give the same fun. A soft fleece tug toy, a rope designed for dogs, or a knotted cotton strip checked regularly can satisfy the urge to pull and shake. Cavaliers are playful, affectionate dogs who enjoy games with their people, and a short play session each day helps use up some of that puppy energy.
In this frame, the yarn is the star, and the puppies are happily wrapped in a very soft problem. By the time the ball is unraveled, there will be five very proud faces waiting for applause.
