Two Saint Bernard Puppies Hopped Into the Wheelbarrow for a Ride
Two red and white Saint Bernard puppies are riding in a weathered metal wheelbarrow, shoulder to shoulder, like passengers on a very slow train. One looks toward the camera with a soft, hopeful expression, and the other peers off to the side, ears hanging heavy as velvet. Behind them, the garden is filled with pots, shrubs and a wooden fence, and the afternoon light is warm.
A wheelbarrow is a splendid prop, but it is a surprisingly risky place for a puppy. A rusty metal tub can have sharp edges, and a wheelbarrow can tip if the pups shift their weight. If you want to give a puppy a ride, a sturdy wagon with low sides is a safer choice, and an adult should stay close. Giant breed puppies are heavy and growing quickly, so use equipment that can handle their weight.
Saint Bernards are known for a calm, steady temperament, which makes them good companions for garden chores. They tend to follow their people around the yard, watching with interest. A puppy that learns early to stay out of flower beds and tool areas will be easier to manage when it weighs as much as a person.
For now the two passengers seem pleased with the view. The wheelbarrow is parked, the engine is off, and the ride is entirely in their imagination.
