Two Beagle Puppies Found the Sunniest Spot and Refused to Leave
Two tricolor Beagle puppies have found the warmest spot in the house and fallen asleep there. They rest side by side on a worn windowsill, chins flat on the painted wood, ears draped over their faces and eyes shut in total peace. Their black backs and white blazes are lit by gentle daylight from the glass. A potted plant and a bit of curtain sit beside them, and the room behind them is soft and quiet.
Dogs love sunlit spots, and Beagles are no exception. Warmth helps them relax, and a window gives them something to watch and sniff when they wake. If you give your puppy a window perch, check that the window is closed or securely screened, since a fall can cause serious injury. Beagles are alert, nose-led dogs, and may bark or howl when something interesting passes outside. Early training and plenty of exercise can help keep that talkative streak in check.
Be careful with hot afternoon sun, too. Puppies cannot always move away when they are sleepy, so make sure the room stays comfortable and offer fresh water.
For now, the sun is gentle and the world outside can wait. When the sun moves on, so will they, and the sill will go quiet again until the next warm afternoon rolls around. Everything about the scene says that the world is a friendly place and there is plenty of time.
