Three Tricolor Corgi Puppies Took a Sunny Nap in a Cardboard Box
Three sleepy puppies lie shoulder to shoulder in a cardboard box, each with a head resting on a paw. The warm sun falls across the box, lighting their white chests and tan eyebrows. Their ears are folded, their breath is slow, and the quiet room around them seems to hold still.
Cardboard boxes appeal to many pets because the sides give a feeling of safety, and the walls hold in warmth. For puppies, a cardboard box can make a short-term bed, though it is not meant to last, especially if a pup likes to chew. Because a puppy will grow fast, a sturdier bed will be needed soon, and a well-cushioned one is better for her joints.
Tricolor Corgis, with their black, white, and tan coats, can have soft, thick fur that sheds more than many expect, so a quick brushing a few times a week helps. Corgi puppies also need plenty of sleep to grow, often most of the day, so avoid waking them unless needed. A sunny spot is nice, but make sure the room does not get too warm and that fresh water is nearby. Ask your vet if you ever wonder how much rest is typical.
For now, the box is a perfect nest, the sun is warm, and these three are enjoying a sound sleep. Dreams of chasing cattle can wait for later, since a nap is the only duty today. The sunlight creeps slowly across the box as they sleep.
