A Blue-Eyed Ragdoll Kitten Waits Beneath the Orange Porch Lights

AI imageragdoll kittenorange lightshalloween porch

Tiny orange lights are strung along the porch beam like glowing pumpkins, and below them sits a seal point Ragdoll kitten with big blue eyes and a cream-colored coat. His dark ears and face are soft against the pale fluff, and his front paws are tucked neatly together. A couple of small pumpkins sit on the porch behind him, and the backyard fence and a house peek out through the golden light.

Ragdoll kittens are born pure white and their points, the darker color on the ears, face, paws and tail, develop as they grow. They are known for being gentle and affectionate, and many like to follow their people from room to room. Because they are not especially street-smart, they are usually best kept as indoor cats, and a porch visit should always be supervised.

Decorative lights are a Halloween favorite, but wires and bulbs are a risk with curious kittens. Keep cords where they cannot be chewed, use lights rated for outdoor use, and unplug them when no one is watching. A kitten that chews wires can be injured, so it is wise to tape cords down or use a cover, and talk to your vet if you notice any mouth injuries.

We will call him Pumpkin Spice. He is looking out at the evening, perhaps waiting for something exciting to wander by. There is a peaceful hush on the porch, and the lights keep glowing.
