A Very Large Dog Stood in a Very Large Puddle of Milk
White milk spreads across the tile floor in a splashy puddle, and standing in the middle of it is a black and tan Rottweiler with his ears pulled back and his dark eyes turned up toward the camera. His front paws are planted in the puddle, and drops of milk have splashed up his legs. A counter with a towel, a mug and a plant sits behind him in a sunny kitchen. He looks like a very large dog who was expecting a different outcome.
Rottweilers are strong, loyal dogs with a gentle streak, and they bond closely with their people. They are smart and respond best to consistent training and plenty of daily exercise. Many adult dogs have trouble digesting milk, because they do not produce as much of the enzyme that breaks down lactose, so too much can cause an upset stomach. A small amount is usually fine, but call your vet if he seems unwell.
A slippery floor is also a risk for a big dog's joints, so wipe up the spill right away, and put a non-slip mat near the fridge. Fresh water is always the best choice for dogs.
He stays still, perhaps hoping the milk will go back into the carton. Whatever the plan was, the floor is cleaner than it was before he arrived.
