A Bernese Mountain Dog Sits Smiling in a Whirl of Feathers
Feathers float around the Bernese Mountain Dog like snowflakes, and he is smiling right through them. Bernese Mountain Dogs are large, sweet-natured dogs that came from the Swiss Alps, where they pulled carts and herded cattle. They are known as gentle and loyal family dogs who love to be near their people. They can also be very playful, especially when young, and a pillow makes an irresistible tug toy.
Feathers and stuffing are not good for dogs to swallow, and large amounts can cause stomach upset or blockage. Pick up every bit and watch for vomiting or a loss of appetite.
